90 Ball Bingo
One of the most common UK based versions of bingo is 90 ball bingo. Not only is it the game that all online bingo sites push the hardest, it’s also played in all of the land based bingo halls.
There are 3 rows of 9 squares (27 in total) on a 90 ball bingo card. Each card however just has 15 numbers, as on every row there are 5 numbers and 4 blanks.
The numbers are not in any old order either. In the left hand column you have the 10’s then the next column has the 20’s. This goes on until the last row, this will be all the 80’s.
So if you are playing in a land based bingo hall, you can find your numbers very easily. Normally when you buy your cards you buy them in what’s called “strips”. There are normally 6 cards on one strip, so you will always get one of the 90 numbers.
Your chances of being successful at 90 ball bingo depends on how many cards are bought by you and your opponents. The normal limit of cards for both online bingo sites and bingo halls in a 90 ball game is 48.
Obviously if you only buy one ticket and you’re against 50 people that have bought 48 tickets each your chances of winning are very low. You should find a game online that only has a few players in it, then to increased your chances, buy as many cards as you can.
One of the awkward parts of winning when you play in a traditional bingo hall is that you need to shout “bingo” or “house” to stop the game. When this happens everyone turns around and stares at you.
This is something you don’t need to worry about online because it’s operated by software. The software stops the game when you win and all that is left for you to do is collect the money you have won. This is probably the biggest plus to playing bingo on the internet.
