The Perfect Art Setting
If you have a small apartment with not enough space and one, picture the room as an art studio. Then, you see a set of Drafting Chairs and Drafting Tables for your projects. The perfect studio, in my opinion consists of a ton of space. There should be space to move around in, space to breathe in and space to create beautiful art in. An art studio should also have lots of light, but not artificial light. Fluorescent light bulbs usually get tiring just like a school setting. An art studio or whatever kind of studio you might have should be readily stocked with all of the supplies that you need as well. You are fully ready to work when you go into a room. All that you should have to bring is yourself?
Art never has a definition and because of that it is very difficult to direct art students or participants in a certain directions. Art, your art, is based upon what you like and what you believe, therefore no one can tell you what art is. Each and every art piece is very different for a reason, because each piece of art has a different representation and background. If you go in a museum, you may notice that similar artists have similar styles, but no two artists are exactly alike. An art studio should embrace your internal style and what you stand for. Just like you might decorate your own bedroom, use the same frame of mind; furnish your very own art studio.
There is no perfect art studio, just like there is no perfect house or anything for that matter. Art is special and different because it decides to be, and you make your art what you want it to be. Your art space does not have to be open and roomy. If need be, it can be closed off and packed in if that is all that it can be.
An art studio should cater to what is being completed in the studio and who is doing it. Have you ever tried to live in someone’s house? It can be very difficult because nothing is familiar to you and you have to search and search and observe until things start to become known. You should not have to do this in your art studio, you should know where everything is and how to find and create anything you want.
Art is open and fun and different for everyone. Trying to make art the same and trying to define it with a universal definition is wrong and it will not be the same if forced upon people. People do not like being told what to do, and they absolutely do not want to be controlled by the latest trends and types. Just like people stay away from certain social settings and cliques, people will stay away from trends and art patterns of certain people also. Art is for everyone, but can get very unclear if forced upon those who do not enjoy that kind of activity.
